Green Valley Ranch property owned by Station Casinos in Henderson – Frank Meoni is the poker room manager at the Green Valley Ranch Resort, a property owned by Station Casinos in Henderson. The new poker room at Green Valley Ranch (GVR) houses a race as well as a sportsbook. This is one of the most important poker tools in Las Vegas. It has 22 non smoking tables and offers daily competitions.
I brought my interview questions to Frank this month and the following he mentioned.
GT: Frank, what’s your background? Tell me about yourself and your family.
FM: “I am 65 years old; I have been a poker manager for 12 years – a year at Palace Station and 11 years at Green Valley Ranch Resort. I have been with the company for nearly 23 years, first for dealerships for six months then for supervisors for about 11 years at Boulder Station.
“Previously I was a firefighter with the city of Hialeah in Florida for 20 years before I retired.
“I have two children, Michael and Frank Jr., and four grandchildren. Michael lives in Louisville, Kentucky, as well as Frank Jr. lives in Coral Springs, Florida. My wife and I enjoy traveling, so if the opportunity arises, we go to the beautiful beaches of Costa Rica, Tahiti, Fiji, or where there is also white sand and blue water.
“Some of my children and grandchildren are really proud and even though they don’t live close, the time we need together for them is still really special.”
How did you get into poker?
“I separated not long before I retired to firefighters and I was on vacation in Las Vegas staying at the old Maxim Hotel. I started playing poker on vacation and decided a casino venture might be right for me. I still enjoy connecting with some people and I don’t fit into a guy who works in an office 9 to 5. “I did ask Maxim if they would use me and they said they learned how to trade and they would give me a chance, and that was it. started and I’ve never looked back. “
